Donations and Acknowledgements
One of the objectives of our Society is to award charitable donations. They are awarded in two categories: (1) for scholarships and (2) for needy organizations and individuals. Scholarships between $2000 to $4000 annually are offered to high school graduates for Post Secondary Education and for Cultural Advancement and Enrichment.
In past years, our Society has also helped organizations and individuals in need. In recent years, our focus has been to support Ukraine as the war continues. We have also supported displaced Ukrainians who have fled the war. We have made regular donations to the Canada Ukraine Foundation in support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal initiatives. We also support the Diaspora FM Voice of Ukraine weekly radio program highlighting current events in our local Ukrainian community. The Society will consider additional applicants for donations which meet the objectives of the Society within our budgetary framework.
If you wish to make a donation to the Society, please feel free to contact The Ukrainian Centre by phone at 604-274-4119 or e-mail us. We will be pleased to respond and set-up a meeting at your convenience. The Society can provide a tax receipt for donations of $20 or more.
